The NAWBO Columbus, OH Chapter Names Shelley Menduni 2006 Member of the Year.
NAWBO Columbus, OH is proud to announce the 2006 Member of the Year, an annual award honoring a member who has performed far beyond the call of duty. Shelley Menduni is certainly this kind of member, with years of service and commitment to the group, and a willingness to help out in any way she can to move the organization forward.
In her introductory remarks, NAWBO Columbus President Kathy Warnick shared a few of the comments submitted as nominations for Shelley:
"She is warm and friendly to all who come to our monthly meetings. She is a real asset to our team".
"She is very open and eagerly seeks to find ways to help the organization grow and improve".
"I'm always impressed with her poise and professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile".
"She is an amazing ambassador for NAWBO and always keeps the best interests of the organization in mind".
And there were many more, Shelley truly is someone who has given of her time and talent to better the organization. She influences growth and professional development, and guides individual members in their own growth. She models effective leadership and communication skills by fostering cooperation and team spirit. Leading by example, she has demonstrated commitment to the organization over time.
Professionally, Shelley Menduni has been with Arbonne International for fifteen years. Arbonne International markets herbal & botanical products, providing Suisse formulations and cutting-edge technology. The product line has grown to include both inner and outer health and beauty products that are pure, safe and beneficial. Currently Shelley is a Regional Vice President, providing a business program that allows people to earn money working from their homes and the opportunity for a significant additional income. She trains, mentors and supports interested individuals, helping them become successful with their own business.
Shelley joined NAWBO Columbus, OH in 1998. Almost immediately upon joining NAWBO, she accepted a position on a committee and worked hard for positive changes. She has been doing so since. She has been involved in Membership, the Nomination Committee, the Executive Board, and the Chapter Board. She is currently serving as both our Membership Chair and acting Secretary, once again demonstrating her willingness to step in whenever and wherever she is needed.
Also active in her parish community, Shelley is President of St. Michael's Parish Council and serves as Chair on the Welcoming Committee at St. Michael's Church. Additionally she is an active member of the Christ Child Society, a volunteer organization dedicated to serving at-risk childrenregardless of race or creed in the Columbus area.
On a personal note, Shelley has been married to Carmine Menduni for 36 years and resides in Worthington. They have 4 children: Nina, Christina, CJ, Angie as well as son-in-law Aaron and daughter-in-law Brooke.
As Kathy Warnick said in her remarks at the December meeting, "Shelley is one of those people who chooses to have a great day upon getting out of bed and makes it nearly impossible for those around her to not follow suit." We are all very lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and positive person, and congratulate her on the well-deserved honor. |
